National I'll-Probably-Never-Finish-A-Novel Month

It's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)...are you ready? The goal is simple: 30 days. A 50,000-word novel. It doesn't have to be good – revision comes later.

I've never actually finished a novel during a NaNoWriMo, because, well, it's a terrible time to work on a novel: the holidays, college football Saturdays, etc. etc. I have four unfinished novels from the past four Novembers (I write non-fiction the rest of the year, so I view NaNoWriMo as the one time of year I get out my fiction and play with it). Will I finish a novel this month, finally? Probably not. But that doesn't mean I can't wear my NaNoWriMo hoodie!

Here's my NaNoWriMo page if you want to "friend" me over there.
