A Walk to Remember: The Nicholas Sparks 5k

I signed up this week to run in Nicholas Sparks' 2012 5k Fun Run on Sunday, April 22 in New Bern, NC. It's part of a full weekend of activities to benefit Sparks' charity, the Sparks Foundation. All proceeds will benefit the great educational needs of our wounded warriors and their families as well as global education initiatives for our youth. 

For $1250, you can also take a tour of Sparks' home and have brunch afterwards. "From the bowling alley to Nicholas’ office where all of the fabulously creative writing occurs, they are opening their home to the brunch’s guests. Guests will dine on fresh seafood, roasts, fresh fruits and cheeses, made-to-order omelets or waffles, and delectable sweets."
