Andrew Shaffer is the creative director of Order of St. Nick, the greeting card company whose irreverent cards have been featured on The Colbert Report, NPR, and FOX News.
Harper Perennial published Shaffer’s debut nonfiction book, Great Philosophers Who Failed at Love, as a trade paperback original in 2011. He is a contributor to The Atheist's Guide to Christmas (Harper Perennial, 2010), Yoga: Philosophy for Everyone (Wiley-Blackwell, 2011), and the forthcoming The Hunger Games and Philosophy (Wiley-Blackwell, 2012). His writing has appeared in Mental Floss, Maxim, and RT Book Reviews.
He has a graduate degree from the University of Iowa, where he also attended the Iowa Writers’ Workshop for a summer semester.
He is at work on his second full-length nonfiction book, Literary Rock Stars: A History of Wayward Writers (Harper Perennial, 2013).
